AS Body Adornment Project

Developed Designs

Using the Kanzashi petal folding method, I made some flower samples from fabrics like satin and organza.

This unique floral neck piece uses a liquid satin base and fastens on the around the neck on the back by tying the organza ribbon.  The flowers are of different types of satin fabrics, organza covered on cotton and more with a resin bead on the centre. Other components like the chain is twisted 3 colour wire with acrylic and pearl beads.

Designs

 Design 3 was developed further with different bodice, skirts and embellishments.

The original brown patterns are from a pencil dress pattern and was developed and modified to be my designs' pattern shape onto cross and dot paper.

The products were made from unbleached cotton calico, white cotton and brown cotton calico as the products purpose is to be used in a kitchen environment cotton fibred fabrics were suitable as they are absorbent and durable. For the embellishments, I used yellow heavy satin, brown satin ribbon and lace (on the pot holder).
